Schemes and Rip-offs: A New Partnership For Our Community

WKMG made a year-long commitment to combat fraud with a new community partnership to counter scammers and help recover victims’ money. The partners included the U.S. Secret Service, the Internal Revenue Service, the Florida Commerce, the Florida Department of Agriculture Law Enforcement and state and federal lawmakers. It resulted in more than $300,000 in recovered funds in 2023 and helped enact a new law protecting consumers from scammers at the gas pump.
